Days after it was revealed that he had been released from the hospital, US actor Jamie Foxx was named the presenter of a new game show focused on music.
Alongside his daughter Corinne, the Oscar-winning performer and actress will present We Are Family on the US network Fox.
She stated on Friday that her father had spent time in the hospital owing to a "medical complication" and was now recovering at home.
They said how "thrilled" they were about contributing to the presentation.
The father and daughter had previously shared a screen on the same network's Beat Shazam, a quiz show centered on music.
When the program debuts the following year, the creators expressed their hope that viewers at home will enjoy it as much as they did while watching it.
A $100,000 prize will be awarded to the audience member who correctly guesses the identity of the non-famous relative of the celebrity who is playing duets with them on the new show.
The transmission is expected to happen in 2024.
One of the heads of Fox Entertainment, Allison Wallach, referred to the Foxx family presenters as "important partners to the Fox family." UK viewers may have seen them together in recent TV commercials.
According to Wallach, they are the ideal presenters for We Are Family because of their inexhaustible energy and endearing banter with the participants.
What has Jamie Foxx been up to lately?
The actress, model, and activist Corinne Foxx, 29, originally revealed on April 12 that her 55-year-old father was hospitalized, although she did not provide a reason for this.
Due to prompt action and excellent treatment, she claimed, "he is already on the road to recovery."
Online rumors concerning his health began to circulate, but on Friday Corinne posted on Instagram that her father had been released from the hospital for "weeks" and had even just participated in a game of pickleball, a racket sport.
She also expressed gratitude for "prayers and support" from others.
According to reports, the actor was hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia, where he and Cameron Diaz were filming Back In Action for Netflix.
The event didn't occur on the set, and he wasn't driven to the hospital in an ambulance, claims People magazine.
Additionally, they said he was receiving tests at the hospital in Atlanta. When exactly he was released is unknown.
