Germany (24 times), France (11 times), and Italy (9 times) were the top three EU export partners that commonly appeared on this list.

largest gains in exports of chemicals and energy
The highest increases in intra-EU export shares reported over the past 20 years were for "Chemicals" (+4 pp) and "Energy" items (+6 pp, in 2022 compared to 2002), however, these increases can be largely attributable to price effects.
The proportions of "Food, drinks, and tobacco" and "Raw materials" increased by the fewest percentage points (both +1 pp).
In contrast, export shares fell for the categories "Machinery & vehicles," "Other manufactured goods," and "Other goods" (-1 pp).
