The decision was made by a division bench made up of Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz, and it is anticipated to ease the tension in the nation that erupted after the former premier's incarceration.
Earlier, the bench resumed proceedings after a brief break for Friday prayers and granted Mr. Khan bail for two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case. After beginning nearly two hours late, the session was postponed shortly after the former premier entered the courtroom under heavy security. The National Accountability Bureau and other parties have received notices from the court.
PTI attorneys and leaders are in huge numbers outside the court, and Islamabad police and Rangers have tightened security to prevent any undesirable events.
Before the break, the judge questioned Mr. Khan about if he had access to a phone so he could call his wife. He said that while he was unable to reach Bushra Bibi, he spoke on the phone with PTI leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema.
Some audience members shouted Imran Khan supporter during the proceedings, which infuriated the judges. It would be impossible to continue the proceedings in such a setting, according to Justice Aurangzeb. The PTI attorneys dissociated themselves from the sloganeering and urged the judge to order the arrest of those responsible.
The PTI leader was transported to the court earlier in the day from the Islamabad Police Lines guest house under heavy guard. The former premier filed the case after arriving at the high court, completing the biometric verification process, and then he went to Room No. 2 of the IHC.
In the matter, Mr. Khan is being represented by Khawaja Harris, an attorney. The former premier has filed four different petitions, asking for bail, information about the cases that have been filed against him, and the joining of all cases.
Islamabad Experiences Tension
When PTI protestors tried to march toward the high court, they got into a fight with security personnel on the Srinagar Highway in the federal capital.
Declared Illegal: Arrest of Imran Khan
The Supreme Court declared his detention earlier this week, which caused violent riots, to be "invalid and unlawful" on Thursday. The former premier was also ordered by the top court to appear before the IHC on Friday (today).
Thousands of "peaceful Pakistanis" from all over the nation would assemble in Islamabad to show support for their leader, according to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
The government reportedly called in the army to assist restore order after Mr. Khan's followers destroyed military installations, battled with police, and set fire to other state assets and buildings, leading to roughly 2,000 arrests and eight fatalities.
Supporters have been forewarned by the army that it will take decisive action in the event of future attacks on its property. It said in a statement on Wednesday that his party's leadership "pre-planned" and "ordered" the violence against its facilities.
