In his response to the most recent "Game of Thrones" spinoff announcement, George RR Martin provided an update on two further projects.
In addition to commenting on the most recent Game of Thrones spinoff revelation, George R.R. Martin provided an update on the development of two additional Game of Thrones projects that had been previously disclosed.
With the release of House of the Dragon in August of last year, fans of the wildly popular fantasy series Game of Thrones were eager to experience new adventures in this world.
Unsurprisingly, HBO has hurried to live up to fan expectations by recently announcing the creation of a prequel to Aegon the Conqueror and a Jon Snow sequel show, as well as the official approval of a Dunk & Egg production named A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.
The topic of the status of the other two projects is inevitably raised in light of this latest development in the Game of Thrones world.
Martin, the author of Game of Thrones, provided an update on his blog Not a Blog. He talked about the lengthy process it took to get the Dunk & Egg show approved and started from scratch, as well as some encouraging news regarding previously-rumored shows focusing on Princess Nymeria of the Rhoyne and the Sea Snake.
When HBO initially began considering GAME OF THRONES spinoffs in the summer of 2016, I proposed them two ideas: the Dance of the Dragons, which eventually became HOUSE OF THE DRAGON... and Dunk & Egg. 7 years have passed since then. (Even I find it hard to believe it). Martin said
"Therefore, we learn that growth requires time. On the internet, I frequently come across reports of other spinoffs being killed off or abandoned. I don't know where they get this material... I can't help but shake my head at it. The Nymeria production is currently in the works. He clarified
So is the Sea Snake Show, he continued. Just had a fantastic week working with writers on that one. Other ones exist as well, both live-action and animated. How many projects will succeed like Dunk & Egg? Unable to state. When will it be finished? It varies.
